Term 3 Youth Registrations are OPEN!
At Dodgeball For All we recognise that everyone is in the sport for different reasons. That's why we have different sessions for different purposes. Please find below explanations about our four different types of sessions:
Social Dodgeball
Semi-Competitive Dodgeball
Competitive Dodgeball
Training for Dodgeball
Social Dodgeball is all about having fun and not about winning. These sessions are designed to be appropriate for new players, and those without much sport experience. More experienced players usually attend these sessions but will be there for guidance and support.
Rules may be a bit flexible for newer players as they learn the ropes.
Examples of Social Dodgeball include:
Drop In Sessions
Outreach Events (e.g. School Fairs, Give it a Go Days with other groups)
Semi Competitive Dodgeball is about playing games that matter but also with having fun. Usually we will put people into teams for these. Players are there to win, but also to socialise with everyone and improve their skills. Proper rules will be followed for these events.
Examples of Semi-Competive Dodgeball include:
Indy Leagues
Draft Leagues
Competitive Dodgeball is about playing as best as you can. It is serious, but is also meant to be fun for everyone. Players will often make their own teams (though we may assist with that if requested).
Proper rules will be followed and we will look to provide trained referees.
Examples of Competitive Dodgeball include:
Tournaments
Auckland Premier League
Training for Dodgeball is all about getting better and improving both fitness and skills. Each session will focus on a variety of different things and generally follow a progression. We will occasionally do testing to help us measure progress.
We will teach rules and strategy in these sessions.
